Insulated Twin Skin Log Cabins

TWIN SKIN / DOUBLE WALLED LOG CABINS

Nearly all of our cabins are available as twinskins and each is listed in the main cabin listings. The cabins that we are showing in this section are the original range of twinskin cabins that we offered many years ago and are still our best sellers today - specifically designed for garden office use.

Twinskin cabins are made with 2 individual skins separated by a 50mm cavity which can then be insulated.
Once insulated, the walls can be the equivalent thermal value of a solid wall which is 5 times thicker. This saves both space and also materials and therefore costs.
The two individual skins are interlocked at the corners which forms a very strong "box frame" and also means that any movement within the wall logs is absorbed by the interlocking method. If the walls were independant, they would also move independantly possibly causing severe problems later on, for example:

1. The inner wall would almost certainly dry out quicker than the outer wall meaning window and door reveals would be out of line.
2. The overall height of the inner wall would be less than the outer wall leaving unwanted gaps.
3. There wouldn't be any additional integral strength in the corners, leaving a much weaker building.
